In just under two weeks time I'm going to be at my brother's wedding...he's marrying a lady of Ukrainian descent. I get to go with my parents (good because I can't drive).
I've never been to a wedding before. The unfamiliarity of it does bug me a bit. But I think what's bugging me is what I've been told about Ukrainians generally...when they get involved in a party, they drink...and heavily (actually most European businessmen have a bad habit of being heavy with the bottle...or so I've been told).
Now, I realize I shouldn't be very worried about this...I'm going to be with my parents during the reception and they're responsible drinkers so a safe ride home is virtually guaranteed, but there will be no hiding from what happens during the reception -- the whole thing is outside, so I fear I'm going to see a few things that if I had to choose I'd rather not see.
That's what's on my mind right now. Any input is welcome.
I went to a friend's wedding once and well...as you said they did drink. I drink a bit myself but I know how to controll it. Some people got drunk but all and all it wasn't that bad.
