True random acts of kindness do not call attention to the giver but leave the recipient surprised and touched. Over the winter, someone has shoveled my snow for me on occasion, before I was able to get out the door to do it myself. Someone else mailed notes of thanks to some neighbors who consistently clear their sidewalks (the dog walkers are suspected of this kindness but no one knows for sure). It did not require a special day or week for these things to happen. It is just the nature of the people in my neighborhood. Nor does it call for snow. Similar acts occur year round. The garden fairy regularly leaves notes of admiration for homeowners who add curb appeal with pretty flowers. I live in "Pay it forward"-land and love it here each and every day.
