I was raised on a farm so there was plenty of work to do. I loved summer vacation when our family went to the beach for a week with an aunt, uncle and cousins. Lots of fun and memories of those trips.

HELLO, WHEN I WAS GROWING I HAD A GREAT AUNT THAT I USED TO SPEND THE WEEKENDS WITH. SHE WAS MORE LIKE A GRANDMOTHER. SHE WOULD COOK A BIG MEAL ON SATURDAYS. WE WOULD SOMETIMES SPEND THE NIGHT ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY OR JUST SATURDAY NIGHT. SHE DIDN'T HAVE ANY CHILDREN BUT WE ALWAYS HAD A GOOD TIME WITH HER.

I spent summers in Stoughton, Wisconsin with my "Aunt" Estelle and "Cousin"Dolly....no, we were not at all related/my mom's friend...and quite, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhh, how shall I put it? Yeah, okay, she was quite eccentric. Dolly had two homes, one was the "Doll House." The other was a Castle, for real, a real castle! The first one burned down somewhat suspiciously the year Estelle was presented with a daughter by her husband. It usd to be on postcards. The second castle is still there.
Dolly and I would go fishing, water skiing and turtle hunting. When we were both 17 years old, we met two guys at the gas station on the lake ~ oh, it's Lake Kekgonsa. Anyway, they were real cousins and we had them meet our moms; later we dated. Turns out Ron(my guy)is a pilot; he'd fly small pondtoon(sp?)planes for tourists, etc., and the four of us saw the 4th of July fireworks from ABOVE THE FIREWORKS(Madison, WI, apx. 18 miles North). So for about 10 years total, that's how I spent my Summers..........all such beautiful, lifelong memories...happy then.

I also grew up with an Aunt i would go over every summer & help her with her garden & have her dinner ready when she got hom from work & my Uncle Bob was building a hug boat & they were going to sail around the world but he never finished it & they had bought a motorhome & traveled all around until they settled helping this camp place & now its getting to much to do so they are building there home to settle in.
