A Life Skills Group Community Group
All are welcome to join our group. We're here to share advice, encouragement, and ideas on how to build better lives for ourselves. We can discuss all aspects of daily living, along with anything else that’s on your mind. Each of us knows a little, and together, we know a lot that can help us each to reach higher and go further in life. There's such a lot...
Financially, no success. Barely getting by in our 50s. To succeed, we need to greatly reduce our spending. Live way beneath our means.
What about you?
Some consider success as acquiring lots of wealth; a fancy house; being prominent in society; holding a lofty position in business; having the ability to do anything they want and not have to consider the price tag; living the "Jet-Set" life of leisure; this is just some definitions of what some consider having reached success;
For others it's having what they need which is adequate, and a even a few things that they want, though even at that it's enough; being satisfied/content with what one has and feeling they are lacking nothing; having a roof over one's head though the dwelling may be modest or in heavy need of repair; having a husband or wife, and children; having a job though it may not be what one would necessarily prefer to be doing; having genuine friends who care enough to check in from time to time just to see if anything is needed or just need to talk; having a little money in the bank at least enough to cover the bills; having food on the table, electricity to enjoy TV and luxuries like running water (especially having hot water) and being able to do laundry in the convenience of one's home (folks there are many who don't have these basics of conveniences that so many of us enjoy) being able to look back on the day and think, I believe I did the best I could with it, given what I had to do with;
many, many would consider themselves reaching the height of success in this way. To lay one's head on the pillow at night and rest in peace, without worry.
I like this attitude of success better than the former. This is the one I'm shooting for. The former is nice; but I think the later is richer in success.
