April 15th is approaching fast. I am planning to have someone else prepare my tax forms for me because the forms I will be required to complete for last year's earnings are more complicated. I filed the 1040EZ form in years past, but I may need to use a 1040A or another form this year.

Because I worked a little last year, I may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), in the amount of $475, as a single taxpayer with no dependents. Some of the rest of you may want to find out if you qualify for this, too.

I will probably use H&R Block, but not their local office here in downtown San Diego because the people there make me uncomfortable. I'll look for another nearby office. I hope I can afford to do this!

WE pay someone to do our taxes. Have for over thirty years.

Oh, gosh, you just reminded me. I need to get that form for an extension. I've become a procrastinator when it comes to taxes. If I would just keep all that info on the farm posted regular throughout the year, I wouldn't be "burning the midnight oil" to get it done at the last minute. But, as the old saying goes, "the plumber's pipes is always leaking", "the roofer's roof is always in need of repair"; seems like getting all that info done for myself is just no fun. And, since there's very little refund anyway, I don't get in a hurry. Most of the time, the government wants more, so they can wait. I hate tax time. I compile all the info into my QuickBooks program and take it to the tax prep person and she does it. Although I do accounting, I hate doing taxes; I'll let someone else do that. It's mind boggling to "stay on the top" off all the changing tax laws every year. The basics seem to stay the same. I know which category all the deductions go; so it doesn't take the tax person any time at all to insert the info where it needs to go. But, I hate doing the tax prep. I know this makes no sense, because, really, I've done the hardest part. She just inserts the info to get the best tax break. But, I don't want the headache of researching all the new tax laws. If I can't deduct it; the tax person will catch it. Plus, with it being just me and Hubby, the government wants to put it's greedy "paws" into our money pot because without any "little one" deductions, the government will "eat you up" in tax costs. The farm helps to offset some of that tax burden.

Anyway, I just hate taxes. I know, you all have got the idea by now.

So, the government can wait for mine until November. Yea, I know. I'm a procrastinator about it.
