A Life Skills Group Community Group
All are welcome to join our group. We're here to share advice, encouragement, and ideas on how to build better lives for ourselves. We can discuss all aspects of daily living, along with anything else that’s on your mind. Each of us knows a little, and together, we know a lot that can help us each to reach higher and go further in life. There's such a lot...
But where the rubber really meets the road, interaction wise, is out in everyday life; person to person. So talking with you folks on this site is sharpening up my "real life" interaction skills. Thank you very much for helping me with my ongoing acquisition of "life skills".
I would like to see more realistic shows about families on television. I grew up in a horribly dysfunctional family, and even if it's only a fictional family portrayed in a television show, it can at least help me to think that there might be something other than what I have experienced in my life.
I think the whole end-of-the-world fantasy thing has been overdone. I really don't need to see any more shows in which all but a handful of the humans have been killed off and the world is ruled by vampires, outer space aliens, zombies, or robots. That kind of fantasy fiction isn't healthy to watch all the time, not even for adults. Hopefully, it is a passing fad, like cowboy movies, which once were extremely popular and were also done to excess.
I watch television in small snippets, rarely watching an entire show. I watch reruns of Full House because it's a fictional family. I also watch the cartoon Spongebob Squarepants except when they do gross and disgusting things on it. I even watch a little of the old TV show MASH.
I hate to admit it, but I have found myself flipping through the channels for hours at a time, looking for something watchable. I've got to find a healthier alternative to that!
Okay, who's next?
You're right, Andelene, real life is tough enough, and we don't need to see more suffering and misery on television when we've already personally experienced more than enough ourselves. We deserve something better from the television networks.
I watch many genres of TV. I do like current events. It doesnt get me down, just makes me feel informed.
I dont watch Two and a Half Men, just offends me so much. Big BangTheory is great, and much tamer.
I like suspense.
Oh ~ I completely agree with SnailAway about Two and a Half Men ; it's totally offensive to me. I don't even like the new one with Ashton Kucher . And I LUV him. We do watch quite a bit t.v.
