A Life Skills Group Community Group
All are welcome to join our group. We're here to share advice, encouragement, and ideas on how to build better lives for ourselves. We can discuss all aspects of daily living, along with anything else that’s on your mind. Each of us knows a little, and together, we know a lot that can help us each to reach higher and go further in life. There's such a lot...
Just acceptance. That's pretty much it. And, knowing when to walk, (sometimes run) away from toxic people.
I am very comfortable with my age, almost 53. I love being older. It took a lot of hard work to get here, and Im still blessed with good health. I was thrilled to be called a new Grandma at ages 46, 50, and 51.... still counting!
I guess Im different because I dont fit in well in churches. Some are too strict, some too liberal. Same with politics, I guess youd call me a moderate. Not far left or far right.
I am learning to live with the differences, by joining the War and Terrorism Support Group here, which is an open forum for discussing the military state of the world.
Also, our children are following a different religion, and we keep loving and accepting one another.
I often feel that the" agree to disagree" is harder to do ~ we should always come to some agreement. But, that is just how I am.
I really agree with catwoman about acceptance.
If I look for the ways I am like other people, I will find them, and I will find the pathway that leads to community; without which, I will surely die.
If I look for the differences, I will surely find them; and the pathway that leads to "terminal uniqueness". From there, it is off to isolation, depression, and, I believe, for me, death.
I have found that I am a lot more like other people than I am different. The holes in my head fit the knots on most other people's. Live and let live.
