I feel it is important to show that you are confident and positive (as best you can). Be honest, and talk about your character (no personal stuff, unless you are asked about something). It is always a good thing to try and find out what the company does and is all about, before going for the interview. Then you can ask work related questions at the end of the interview. Always make eye contact with the interviewer(s), and greet them with a firm handshake.

Don't: Wear perfume or cologne, chew gum, or smoke - not even in the waiting area, because even the receptionist and other people passing through the area should be considered part of the interview process, and these people will observe you. Do not invade the interviewer's personal space by placing items on his or her desk or touching anything on his or her desk.

Do: Wear at least a shirt and tie if you are a man, and appropriate attire if you are a woman. Do bring along a copy of your resume so you will have it if asked for one. Do bring along a generic job application with all the lines and spaces filled in for reference. Do bring your own pen. Do be prepared to spend a little time in the interview process, which these days may include a written multiple-choice psychological profile.

Whatever the job that you're applying for, the main job will be to make your Supervisor's job easier.

So find out what will make the supervisor's job easier.

With entry level....that's going to be Punctuality and Flexibility.

I've called off ONCE in the past year. Once. When I"m on the schedule....they don't have to worry about me not showing up. I'm there, there on time, and ready to work.

I'm okay working with whoever. If I have an issue with a person (uually daily) I mostly keep it to myself, and only go to the supervisor if it's really serious. Because people tend to just be the way they are. It's NOT personal....although it may feel that way. (When the supervisor has to deal with it....their life is NOT easier.) The person may either be 1) having a bad day (we all do); 2) be on the chopping block to get fired (i I stay oout of it Ill get brownie points), or 3) have lots and lots of connections.
