A Life Skills Group Community Group
All are welcome to join our group. We're here to share advice, encouragement, and ideas on how to build better lives for ourselves. We can discuss all aspects of daily living, along with anything else that’s on your mind. Each of us knows a little, and together, we know a lot that can help us each to reach higher and go further in life. There's such a lot...
Im on the right meds now and treat my back pain nightly with Motrin and rice pillows heated in the microwave, and I sleep very well. I entertained Wednesday night, and had cooked all day, and I slept eleven hours.
When my girls had young babies, they used a maternal U shaped pillow that fits around their waists for nursing. I would be babysitting, and started lying my head on that pillow- called a Boppy pillow- and my shoulder fit perfectly in the open part, and I would nap while the baby napped. So I got one for myself! I recommend them!!
Beau, Im sorry to hear that your place is so noisy at night! Have you tried earplugs? Or run a fan for white noise?
My ex left 5 years ago, and after he left, I started sleeping on the couch. So that's where I sleep every night. I have an expensive feather pillow that I LOVE. And a cheap blanket that I found at a yard sale for $3 about a dozen years ago... My daugher either sleeps in my room, or on the floor beside me. My son is 12 (almost 13 now) and prefers a bed now (traiter....kidding) For a while after my ex left, all 3 of us would sleep on the floor together.... (hey, I never claimed that we were a normal family...)
When I can't fall asleep quickly, I take benedryl. But only for 1 to 3 days in a row...then 3 days off. Benedryl works really well, but your body adjusts to it quickly. A few days off and it works again.
My Faith, my Friends and my Family keep me going..
Hugs,Maria
Only too well do I remember those days and nights of active depression and anxiety! Sleep was pretty much a vanished commodity in those days.
Thankful for recovery; thankful for good SLEEP!
