I wish I could find my Easter bonnet! When I was in grade school, way back when, we used to make Easter bonnets for our art class. What great fun that was.
Then there are memories of shoe shopping! Easter marked the time from changing wearing your black patent leather shoes to wearing your brand new white ones...with your ankle socks. Add to that a new pink, frilly dress, and a new spring coat and you were dressed to the nines. If you were about 5 - 12- years old, that is. Tee Hee!
Then on Saturday night it was time for a bath and getting your hair put up in pin curlers, wrapped in a bandana to sleep in so they wouldn't fall out.
Then up early Sunday morning to go to a sunrise church service with the whole church filled with the wonderful scent of Easter lilies.

Thank you, Beaumont! yesterday my granddaughter asked me about Easter, and I felt honored to tell her all about Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for us. That was a blessed experience for me.

Apparently there is more to the holiday than I knew. It starts with today, Good Friday, and continues through Monday. Is this just a Catholic thing, or do Protestants celebrate for more than one day? Can anyone tell us more about it?

Actually it began yesterday with Maundy Thursday! But I dont what that means, maybe the day the Last Supper is celebrated, oh yeah, theres Communion services on Maundy Thursday.
