A Life Skills Group Community Group
All are welcome to join our group. We're here to share advice, encouragement, and ideas on how to build better lives for ourselves. We can discuss all aspects of daily living, along with anything else that’s on your mind. Each of us knows a little, and together, we know a lot that can help us each to reach higher and go further in life. There's such a lot...
married ,3 grown children and 2 grandchildren....:-)
I love talking to my Dad and Brother ( they live in Germany) via phone
and Skype...love it :-)
My name is Ira and I got a financial business. I really enjoy workouts at either a fitness center or out doors. I am a marathon cyclist, of which I sometimes compete or ride recreationally.
Am considered to be an optimistic and positive dude. To me the glass is always half full and tomorrow shall be a better day then today.
Like social situations, and feel glad to be a part of this group. Peace
I had a miserable childhood. No direct abuse as such (hard to explain the bonding that just wasn't there.) Everything that I ever attached to got taken away. My teddy bear, blanket, etc, etc, eventually even the tennis shoes....yup I remember attaching to them and the day they got put in the garbage.....and how heart broken I was. I also remember thinking that I'd never attach that close to anything else again....and on one level....I haven't.
LOVE my kids to pieces, but on some level, if I lost them, it wouldn't hurt 1% as much as it hurt to lose those shoes....
Speaking of those kids....I call my son Baby Rat. (Comes from a video about how "well licked rats" grow up healthier than non-well licked rats.....
And I call my daughter Baby Maggot Scum......or Maggie for short.....yes, even our nicknames...have nicknames.....(I'm Mama Maggot Scum......or MMS)
So Maggie and Baby Rat keep telling me that I"m a great mom.....and I keep telling them to stop lying.....kids...sigh....what do they know.....
I say "sure you like me now.....just wait until you get a boy/girl friend and have to introduce them to me..."....they acknowledge that I probably have a point.......
More about me....with the divorce I went back to school and became a nurse....and I LOVE it. Gives me free reign to do the two things that I love the most.....teach and help people.....
Lets see...what else..........I probably talk too much and definitely post too long......
Oh well.....
I generally have an upbeat attitude, plenty of dorky jokes or useless information to share, and always willing to help! When I have time, I love to draw, read, write, play video games, and work on costumes.
Sometimes I take on too much, though. In that way, I also seem to have little time to myself much anymore, since someone is always needing me for something (kind of frustrating some times, since there's no one around willing to listen to me about my own problems). I hate to turn people down, but I'm working on practicing that because I get so stressed out when I don't have my own quiet alone time to do things I want to do. Staying at home and vegging out isn't always bad, you know?
And, in case you couldn't tell yet, I can be very wordy. XD
How about you?
Some day I want to 'get back on the horse' and find a nice woman to settle down with. But I want to work on me right now. My goal and you guys are the first to hear of this is to cultivate my trade that I have and use if for travel to different countries and music festivals - where if you work at the festival, you go for free.
I also had a shitty upbringing; my pride is keeping me from dying holding onto the misery that was created by that upbringing.
I used to be a recluse, but I'm trying to get away from all that. It's a very, very slow process. There are way too many rules. *sigh* One of these days I'm going to find some kind doctor who is willing to just graft one of my feet to my upper lip and then when I open my mouth it will just automatically go in there. It'll save everybody a lot of trouble. And then, sure as the world, I'll trip and fall down and shoot myself in the foot.
