A Life Skills Group Community Group
All are welcome to join our group. We're here to share advice, encouragement, and ideas on how to build better lives for ourselves. We can discuss all aspects of daily living, along with anything else that’s on your mind. Each of us knows a little, and together, we know a lot that can help us each to reach higher and go further in life. There's such a lot...

If you want to wear the bare minimum in clothing, save it for the beach or bedroom. When you wear the bare minimum in most public places, the message that men receive from you is, "I'm for sale, and for a cheap price." That may not be the kind of message you want to broadcast.
Just as with men, your underwear is your personal business - just keep it under your clothes. If you wear a top or blouse that bares your shoulders, wear a bra that does not have a shoulder strap that shows, or you'll end up appearing like a teenage girl from a hick town.
Women can wear just about any color (including pastels), pattern, or print, and look fine in it. Still, you might want to avoid overdoing bright pink and purple and black, wearing these colors less often than other colors. They are good accent colors but an entire outfit in them can be a little hard to look at if worn daily.
Don't feel that you have to engage in competition with other women when it comes to how you dress. You don't have to be one with the tallest high-heel shoes or the one who never wears any outfit more than once. You might actually be better off if you drop out of any competitiveness in dress, and stick to more modest but still pretty time-tested styles. Some looks never go out of style, and it might be a good idea to have a few of these kinds of outfits in your wardrobe.
Remember, there's a lot more to your personality than just what you wear.
How will you know when your wardrobe is the right size to suit your needs? It may be determined by how often you do your laundry. If you do laundry every two weeks, you'll need fourteen outfits plus a few more because you may not be able to do your laundry at exactly every fourteen days, and you'll want a few special outfits and outfits to wear in the meantime, in case something becomes stained or tears or you lose a button. So, maybe you'll decide on eighteen outfits as the minimum size for your wardrobe. Pick a number you can live with.
Dress like your supervisor is the best generic advice out there.
So much depends on the field. If you sell clothes....wear the same types of clothes that they sell. (Wearing a suit to work at Abercrombie and Fitch....isn't going to work. T-shifts are totally appropriate.) Some places it's fine to wear jeans....some...never. Same thing for makeup. Some places it's best to do it up to the max....and some it's best to wear none.
About the only absolute don't that I know of....is don't wear overpowering perfume/ cologne.
