Many, many ordinary non-celebrities have also died from taking prescription drugs improperly. You may even know of someone close to you such as a friend, neighbor, or relative who has died as a result of prescription drugs.

This suggests that one needs to be more aware, sympathetic and empathetic about the feelings of others.
We may learn that prescription drug usage needs to be carefully monitored.
Personally, in a great many ways, I am concerned we are becoming a nation of legal "druggies". Too often, we look for pills to ease our woes, instead of inside ourselves to make those changes necessary to have a more contented life. And we are told we must be "happy" all the time, when we are human and part of that condition is at times is being sad (please understand I am not talking about deep, debilitating depression here or other mental or medical conditions that can and should be treated), but rather, the general day to day type of thing.
It just seems to me drugs are pushed far too much and far too often for too many things, and if we show our children this is the way to go, they will surely follow. And they do...for it now appears necessary to lock up the medicine cabinet to keep kids out.
Prescription drugs can be lifesavers and sometimes they are absolutely necessary, but that doesn't mean we should look to them to solve every life problem that comes along.
Just my 2 cents...hope I have not offended anyone for I certainly didn't mean to.
one time because of the severe side affects of one of the medication. The doctor switched
my Inhaler to another Inhaler with Steroids.. But I told him several times that I can not take
Steroid because I am allergic to Steroids! The doctor told me I had to take the Inhaler only
for 12-14 days because the X-rays showed that I had small amount of fluid in my right Lung.
Of course I did not wanted to get worse so I agreed to take the Inhaler and other medications
to get better.. I should never ever taken the Inhaler! I developed severe side effects again and
I had to see my doctor 2 times. I stopped taking the Inhaler with the Steroids, drew it away and
I went back to my old Inhaler. I am still dealing with the side affects from the Inhaler/Steroids
(severe bleeding Rash, Bruises all over my body, Fluid retention in my right leg.)
Yes ,my severe cough from the Bronchitis got better.. but look what I had and still going through
because I believed the doctors.. Horrible and very painful!
Never ever again I will go through this. I believe, one you allergic to a specific medication you will
always be allergic to this medication and the doctors should listen to you!
Suggesting some of us need to adopt extra precautions on using any new medication, I learned the importance that early detection of allergic symptoms takes in saving lives.
It is very important that every individual know what medications/medicines he or she is allergic to, and that should also include knowledge of anesthetics, which are often administered in a gas form. Make a list of the ones you are allergic to, and be absolutely certain that your doctor and/or hospital has this information on record. Your spouse, children, and other members of your household should be included in this: do they know your allergies and sensitivities, and do you know theirs? It can be a matter of life and death.
If you ever have questions about a particular drug, you can contact any pharmacy that provides it - even if they aren't the pharmacy providing you with the drug. In the U.S., law states that pharmacies are required to provide drug information on all drugs they provide, to any person who asks, provide the information at no charge, whether or not the person is receiving a drug through that pharmacy.
If you carry drugs when you travel, be sure to carry prescription information with you that includes the names and telephone numbers of the prescribing doctor and the pharmacy. In some countries and states, you can be arrested and jailed for being in possession of prescription drugs if you cannot prove you obtained them legally - even if it is an inhaler-type-device or heart medication or antibiotics.
