Networking is defined as 'the process or practice of building up or maintaining informal relationships, especially with people whose friendship could bring advantages such as job or business opportunities'. In short, networking is 'opportunity seeking behavior'.
How would you rate your networking abilities? For someone who might be floundering about alone in life, what advice can you offer on building a network, including a social support system? Do you believe it is possible for a person to 'network their way to success'?

I do believe that those folks who are able to network, do have a tremendous advantage. Like they say..."it's not what you know, but who you know". We all have probably also experienced a situation of knowing.working with a person who is not very compentant, but holds a relative high position within an organization because of the people they know and the contacts they have.
