Why did the chicken cross the road? To get the cluck out of here!
I know- needs work! So let's hear yours....
Q: Why did the chicken cross the playground?
A: To get to the other slide!!
Why did the chicken cross the road?
COLONEL SANDERS: I missed one?
JERRY SEINFELD: Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask "What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place, anyway?"
GRANDPA: In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken had crossed the road and that was good enough for us.
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question.

I wonder, are all great comedians insomniacs? Well, I couldn't sleep last night, so here's what I came up with...I hope you'll find it in your hearts to forgive me for the following, because I'm no great comedian!
"Chicken Crosses Road!"
Why did the chicken cross the road? Because...
it was in the way; she couldn't go around or under it; to retrieve the hat blown off her head by the breeze; the pedestrian sign was flashing "WALK"; to beat the early bird to the worm; Farmer Susan was calling out, "Here, chick-chick-chick, here, chick-chick-chick," while tossing corn around onto the ground; go ask your mother; the grass was greener on the other side; the voices in her head told her to do so; to get a better job; go ask your father; the open range was calling to her; to get back her groove thing; to find her lost sheep; to catch the "L" train; to try Wendy's new hot 'n' spicy bacon double cheeseburger; to catch the show; she had a bee in her bonnet; to take a closer look at the cow; it's not for me to say; I've got a man on it now; to feather her nest; I don't know, go ask Alice; to see what was on the other side; what road?; because at the time it seemed like a good idea; the sky was falling; at the time it seemed like the right thing to do; to get a better cell phone signal; to catch a falling star; to buy a copy of the new horror novel "Chicken Soup for the Human Soul; to try to look important; exactly what are you trying to imply?; to get to where her car was parked; she was a trouble maker; to make a new friend; she had nothing better to do; she was headed in the wrong direction; she's not saying and I'm not telling; to try something new; go look up the answer on Google; that's not a subject for polite conversation; they told her there was a ham sandwich in it for her; can we talk about something else; that's a good question; what chicken?; to escape global warming; she was a good and faithful friend; to escape the coming ice age; she lost a bet; the answer is blowing in the wind; we're looking into the matter; what was the question again?; she won a bet; go look it up in Encyclopedia Britannica; exactly; ask me again in about a week; eat your dinner, dear; I'm listening; do tell; oh, I love you so much; what was the question again?; can't I just finish my waffle; aren't you the funny one; that's a classified state secret; it's a little complicated; the other chickens said it couldn't be done; I could tell you, but then we'd have to eat the chicken; to boldly go where no chicken had gone before; what was the question?; we'd have to look at it from the chicken's point of view; what was the question again?; some things we're just better off not knowing; it's not exactly clear; scientist have been working on that one for years; to get a glass of water; she'd already been around the block; to see what she could see; for the fun of it; it's a bit of a mystery, isn't it?; she knew she'd give the farmer nightmares for years to come; another chicken gave her an odd look; I can't comment on an ongoing investigation; why don't we go find out; she was certainly a funny bird, that one; truth be told, nobody really knows;...
Now it's your turn...where will you take us?
-Why did the (fill in the blank) climb the mountain (or hill)?
-Why did the (fill in the blank) go to the Moon (or Mars)?
-Why did the (fill in the blank) go to live at the North Pole?
