freeze tag, is the same game as tag except if you are tagged then you are frozen and have to stay frozen unless someone from your group tags you and unfreezes you before getting back to home place. the only way to do this safely is for the fastest runner to attempt to tag and unfreeze the person if they are nearby. or, for the members of the team to make a human chain to try to unfreeze by touching and everyone still be connected to home. freeze tag is played outdoors and is generally the favorite game.

hide and seek is where one person seeks and everyone hides and the idea is to be so hidden the seeker can't find you. however, some parents with their friends play this. they say they are "seeking" and all the kids go hide. the truth is they are inside quietly having tea and just want the kids out of their hair for a while and its an easy way to get everything all quiet for awhile.

duck duck goose, we used to play in girl scouts. everyone is sitting in a circle and whoever is the one outside goes around the circle tapping each head saying duck duck duck duck and suddenly chooses a goose and that goose chases the one that tagged them and is supposed to tag them before they reach their seat otherwise they are the next one to do that. its a pretty dumb game. you outgrow it before the last year of girl scouts, it should really be a brownie game.

RED ROVER:

Divide the group of kids into two teams. The kids then form two lines holding hands and facing each other. The lines should be 30-50 feet apart. The team chosen to go first calls for a runner from the other line, saying, âRed Rover, Red Rover, let Thomas come over!â Thomas then takes off running and tries to break through the other line. If he breaks through, he chooses one of the kids that he broke through to take back to his team. If he doesnât break through, he has to stay with the other team. The game ends when everyone is in one line. The game is fun because of the suspense of wondering when your name will be called and wondering whether the runner from the other team will choose you as the weak spot to try to break through. Itâs not a highly competitive game as everyone ends up on the winning team; however, Red Rover has been banned on some playgrounds as too rough. Obviously the game works best if the kids are close to the same age. Three practices should definitely be banned. The first is double-linking by holding each otherâs wrists or arms. Hands only can be joined. The second is raising the arms high to âclotheslineâ the runner. The third is thrusting the joined hands outward so that the runner encounters the equivalent of an outthrust fist.

musical chairs is actually a decent game and played at most birthday parties. two lines of chairs usually back to back but it depends on the number of kids are lined up and everyone sits down.

one chair is taken away and music plays as the children circle the chairs. when the music stops you make sure you are sitting in a chair. if you are not sitting in a chair you are out.

everyone stands up and another chair is taken away. the music plays again and the children circle the chairs again. when the music stops again the children sit in a chair. the child not sitting in a chair is out. sometimes kids get tired of the game and purposely don't sit in a chair. or if you rather have cake or go to the bathroom or drink something, or talk to your friend or talk to a new boy, or don't like the prizes, then you purposely miss a chair and are out. but no one says this.

the game goes on until there is only ONE chair and two children left and then the one who gets that one chair wins and gets the prize.

hop scotch is played everywhere.

you have a piece of chalk (or a pre made hopschotch board). we used to draw our's on the street. you put one block for one and then two blocks for 2 and 3 and then one block for 4 etc., you can actually use any format you want. you throw a stone onto the number you are up to and everyone begins with the number one. you jump to the number that you just threw to. so the beginning numbers are easy but as you get to the end it gets harder. you have to be able to jump into the square with either one foot or two. so you jump one foot, then two feet, then one on and on to fit the squares. its kind of fun when you are little or in the mood for it.

you win, when you make it to the end first. its a game that aids balance and eye-hand coordination because you are throwing a stone into something and balancing as you jump. its also a great feeling of accomplishment for little ones because it is something they can do at a very early age and pretty much always get it right.

pin the tail on the donkey

this game is played at most in house, birthday parties for children. a paper donkey is hung up and all the children are given tails with a tack on the end of it. the party coordinator puts a blindfold or double blindfold on the first child and spins the child around three times to make them dizzy and then points the child in the direction of the donkey. the child then walks until they feel they have come upon the donkey and they tack the tail on whatever it is that came upon.

this is done to each child, and the child who comes closest to pinning the tail on the donkey where it should be, is the winner and gets a prize.

simon says simon is the leader if he say to do some action you do it but if he say do not do something you don't but if you do it you are out of the game and rest of the kid keep playing.

memory match game All picture cards are turn face down turn two cards over if they do not math on your next trun try to find some that do match. remember where you saw a card like the one you just turned over.

Then wWat Happened game story activity . each person tell part of a made up story as you go story . as each player tells his part then stops and says THEN WHAT HAPPEND? and the next player starts telling his part of the story. the story can get pretty wild.

mad libs. we used to play these at camp endlessly. you start out real young actually thinking up correct responses. then by the time you are around the age of middle school you put in curse words and words like piss or shit and that is supposed to be REALLY funny. we couldn't stop laughing. lol.
