A Child Abuse Survivors Group Community Group
We survived child abuse, but the pain still remains and so do the other effects which can last a lifetime. We are often unable to find adequate help, and we are seeking answers that can help us understand what happened so that we can go on to lead normal lives. (Please note that this is a group for child abuse survivors only. If you are a professional in the mental health...
One time when I was probably 8 or so years old, after the beating, I crawled behind the couch, face down and wished my mom was dead. I cried to myself. God knows if she heard me crying, she might come back to finish me off.
I didn't invite my mom to my high school graduation. I didn't tell her much about anything about my life. I moved out when I was 19. I didn't go visit her in her dieing days (even though my dad had beg me to). The only few times I went was because my older brother had forced me to.
I struggled for a long time as I put myself through college. I graduated and became a very successful engineer. If my mom were still alive today, I'm not sure if I would ever visit her because I wanted to.

You're totally right. For at least the first five or so years I felt very guilty not visiting her. It faded a lot since.
Through out the years I do forget and it feels great. All it takes is a nightmare and I'm awake thinking about it for days or weeks. And yea, sharing this also makes me feel better.
