A Child Abuse Survivors Group Community Group
We survived child abuse, but the pain still remains and so do the other effects which can last a lifetime. We are often unable to find adequate help, and we are seeking answers that can help us understand what happened so that we can go on to lead normal lives. (Please note that this is a group for child abuse survivors only. If you are a professional in the mental health...
after a few years, you didn't see as much of it because the laws had changed, but the older photographers said it was still going on, the people who were abusive just weren't risking making photography appointments anymore, compared to the 80's when they would make an appointment even if the kid was black and blue all over and black eyes as well. amazing. they weren't ashamed or embarrassed of what they did back then.
an uncle of ours through one of my steps used to whip his infant/toddler child with a belt and then torture the child further, first comforting and then pouring things like alcohol or comet into the open wound and threatening the kid further if he cried. later on i found out he and his wife did even worse stuff to his younger brother and total strangers of all ages. total perverts. and totally INSANE, but "executives" and educated of course. incredibly two our of three of his sons are actually worse than he and his wife were, as adults today and all through their childhoods and teens. but there they are still alive and still doing all this shit, plus his daughter is now just as bad or worse.
if i didn't know so many formerly abused kids who are NORMAL as adults, i would think its inevitable if one is abused, which is like with pitbulls that are abused and so unfair. but i don't think that, however, with their family i DO think its genetic, and its because various forms of insanity run in their family, even with higher education, decent jobs and nice homes, its always the same with people, they got away with it for so long it becomes a habit or addiction and since no one stopped them, they see no reason to ever stop and never will, until they are killed off like the mad dogs they are. DISGUSTING people.
One thing I have noticed is that physical abuse is the easiest to recognize. Most of us reach adulthood and realize that we were physically abused. The emotional, neglectful, ect can be harder to discover.
