A Child Abuse Survivors Group Community Group
We survived child abuse, but the pain still remains and so do the other effects which can last a lifetime. We are often unable to find adequate help, and we are seeking answers that can help us understand what happened so that we can go on to lead normal lives. (Please note that this is a group for child abuse survivors only. If you are a professional in the mental health...
I have Celiac disease. Some people call me a "whiner" by the time I relate the challeges when we are out at dinner. Then I feel afraid to even discuss the normal challenges that everyone has.
It is really hard most of the time people don't get it at all.
Even on some groups on DS, some people think it is no big deal.
I understand I have the right to my feelings but I hate burdening others, especially
when I feel like I'm doing it often.
After I got married at a young age..... i discovered the hard why that my husband was the same way.... you are not allowed to express emotions. At times i have lets others know im not having an ok day and i felt down but then that information was only brought up and used against me....hiding how i felt has just because automatic as a way of coping and protecting myself..... i know its not healthy
GOOD 2 YOU SHOULD HAVE A LOVING RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR HUSBAND, AND BE ABLE TO TALK AND BE ABLE TO TALK AND SHARE, HE SHOULD BE THERE FOR YOU, LOVE YOU, CHERISH YOU, THAT WHAT MARRIAGE ITS ALL ABOUT, WE ARE NOT ROBOTS****
MY MARRIAGE FINISHED WHEN HE CONFESSED TO ADULTERY, I PUT UP WITH EVERYTHING ELSE BUT THIS WAS THE END, LOST ALL RESPECT..
LOVE TO ALL, LUCY**
Writing and journaling have been great ways for me to get it out. I just don't expect people to understand what I am going through any more because it is impossible for them to be in our shoes. People who grew up in normal happy families just cannot feel our pain.
It took my husband years to see what my Dad had done to me. The more my husband listened to my stories and the more he interacted with my Dad in my presence, the more he understood how much I had been through. My siblings also weighed in on our Dad's abuse with their own stories. My husband used to tell me to take the high road and make up with my Dad. Nope. Not going to happen. Been burned so many times. Done.
That being said, it does make me sad quite often when am triggered into remembering my childhood. My children have what I grieved for: two loving parents.
