A Child Abuse Survivors Group Community Group
We survived child abuse, but the pain still remains and so do the other effects which can last a lifetime. We are often unable to find adequate help, and we are seeking answers that can help us understand what happened so that we can go on to lead normal lives. (Please note that this is a group for child abuse survivors only. If you are a professional in the mental health...
I didn't really "decide" on a career but find myself in one now. I've allowed myself to sail with the wind which just happened to get me where I am now. Had I known myself better then, I might have acted more deliberately. I do plan to take on an interest as a potential new career soon.
I have seen people start a job for the sole purpose of generating income and then eventually move up the ladder. A smart employer will recognize a good employee with the traits they are seeking and will want that employee to advance. Your strengths start to show when you've worked somewhere long enough and that is when the opportunities will present themselves.

I can sing to make the angels cry! I was offed full scholarship to an art school but mom thought all "performers are gay, attention seeking whores". She did not want to "spend four years drivi.g into new york to "watch me prance my ass around in front of strangers showong off".
Of course, anytime i sang anywhere she ws rigbt tbere to steal the limeliht from me shovin me out of the way.
So she forced me to pursue a "real" career studying mathematics where I'd Ned a PhD to teach.
I am taking singing lessons now thou.
Sorry that doe not answer your question doe it
So that's my stiry
Now it's somebody else's turn to ask a question. How about you?
One of the few things I did right in my life was never sell out to what I wanted to do. I went through hell in my career life learning the ropes- but here I am at "master" level and reaping the rewards. It's not always about money- it's about loving what you do. Trust me- I know about the "it's not about the money" personally through the years because I never seem to have enough to just pay the bills. But there is my fortune.
Dynamical- all I can say is to accept that everyone has different ways of going about things. We all are in our own worlds. So many think the world they live in- that everyone else lives in your world too. Does that make sense? Everyone has their own reality. The trick, the dance, is to accept and learn. In my humble opinion.
Oh- forgot to post a question:
Why is it that because of my personal issues, my body reacts when I feel fear in a way I can not stop. I become frozen inside. People can feel it. I've never been able to correct this. Socially challenged, that's me.
When people are threatened they have a "fight, flight, or freeze" response. They used to just say "fight or flight" but they finally figured out there was a third way to go, and that was to freeze. I'm not sure if they've decided yet why we each tend to use one response rather than another. I also freeze up.
