A Capable Disabled Group Community Group
We would be delighted to have you join our group. A Capable Disabled Group is a mutual support group for persons who are disabled, handicapped, differently abled, or have other conditions, along with our friends and caregivers. We discuss what matters to us, learn from each other, and strive to improve our lives.
Some of your favorite people might have fur, feathers, or scales. They might keep you company, help you cope with anxiety in public places, guard you against intruders and stranger danger, or be your eyes and ears to guide you across the streets and sidewalks to many of the places you want to go in life.
Some folks keep a gaggle of long-necked honking guard geese at their country places to intimidate would-be trespassers, rather than dogs. Have you ever seen a person with a brightly-plumaged bird perched on their shoulder when they're out running errands? Did you know that many animal shelters allow people to keep an animal for a trial period before deciding whether they want to return or adopt the animal? How about this: pigs can be house-broken. Does your area have 'pet-friendly' apartment listings? You may have heard of dogs being described as 'man's best friend', but have you heard of cats being described as 'man's other best friend'?
Wait...before you rush out to find that pretty pony, that cock-a-doodle-doo, or that fuzzy rodent, gather some information. What does that thing eat, how much should it be allowed to eat, how much does food cost, and where can you buy it? Do you have the name and number of a good veterinarian? Do your local zoning ordinances permit you to have that creature, and how many of its friends can you also keep by law? Will you need leashes, collars, tags, micro-chips, cages, pens, fences, shelter, vaccinations, permits, fees, water tanks, vet visits, pet toys, obedience training, house-breaking, and pet-proofing of your home and/or yard? What about when you have to leave your animal friend at home alone for more than one day - who will visit your home to look after it, or where can you take it for someone to look after it? How much do you know about creatures of that species and caring for them? Will your landlord allow a pet, and will your security/cleaning deposit increase? Will your homeowner or renter insurance cover lawsuits against you if your pet bites or otherwise causes an accident to someone else, or will you need additional insurance?

I love this that you have added, and I apologise for not being in the group before now as been busy on Aimoo & Yuku network on my 12 groups & the ones I help with, take care dear friend, Kenny.
And when calculating costs, don't forget that an animal is an ongoing expense, including insurance, vet bills, and food as well as the effort and work that goes into looking after a dog, playing with it and keeping it entertained and stimulated. It will end up being more than two weeks and two hundred dollars. But it is worth far more than that.

The only work i do,is tending to my animals as pain and exhaustion keep me bed ridden most days.It is past time to use a cane but i refuse,a balance dog would be perfect to get outdoors with.Thankyou for this group.Maddy
