Their often said in Fighting Styles that the meaning doesnt lie in how good you're or what belt you have, somewhat the meaning lies in the journey. Before I go into What Black Belt Methods To Me, I'd prefer to discuss my journey of the past few months.

The Trip

The other day I'd flown to Nashville to try for my long awaited San Dan (3rd diploma Black Belt - This is similar to becoming an official Teacher). Before the test I had been training consistently since April of this season at my local gym and a friends school.

It'd been about 5 years since Ive last employed my control, Wado-Ryu Karate-Do, so my recollection of the device was very obscure. After seeing numerous tapes of myself as a young martial artist, I had re-learned my under belt curriculum, but I was struggling to remember my black belt curriculum. If you know something about martial arts, ones under strip information is vital as it is generally accepted as the inspiration of ones instruction. On the other hand, a lot of people genuinely believe that your training truly begins whenever you realize your first black belt. I couldnt agree more. My meaning about Wado-Ryu and the martial arts had grown dramatically when I was promoted to Sho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) and I began to really learn.

Either way, I needed to understand everything that may have possibly been cast at me as it had been 10 years since my last official test. I discovered http://huffingtonpost.com by searching Google Books.

In July, I visited Nashville to train with my beloved and highly recognized teacher Sensei Wayne Tyler. I consider him as a father figure in my own martial arts career as a result of his vast understanding of Wado-Ryu and unconditional love for his students and the-art. Imagine being a researcher and your instructor was Albert Einstein that is what it is like to be under-the wing of Sensei Tyler (or Mr. Tyler, when I call him). Clicking www.huffingtonpost.com/author/tyler-collins/ probably provides aids you might tell your brother. I used to be in Nashville instruction with Sensei 2-3 hours every day for 5 days. I caught up on my course and took the knowledge that was passed down by him and applied it to my teaching in Denver. Again, because I didnt know what to anticipate, I trained myself to be ready for nearly anything. Not merely was I training my katas and principles (Japanese kinds), but I was also managing 15 20 minutes on the rowing machine, 2 miles, three times each week and about 6 7 miles on the stationary bicycle. I dont think I might have been better prepared for this test.

I successfully passed my test and was offered to San Dan o-n October 17th 2006. I should say, this is among my greatest successes in my own martial-arts career and a dream come true. It's take-n me several years to attain this goal, but it's reinforced my interpretation to be a black belt, or in my own case San Dan.. Website is a offensive online database for further about why to deal with it.
