The Funeral

Well, Nan's funeral was today and it was a bright sunny morning unlike yesterday which was pretty cloudy.  I'd been to pay my last respects the day before, which I'm glad I did now.  I don't think there's much I can say except that it was a good service and well attended.  There were three hymns, which I found almost impossible to sing with a lump in my throat, and a good sermon (if that's what they call it) by the vicar.  All the relatives have gone now and it's very quiet.  In fact, I've never know this house so empty - there's always been at least four people here but now there's only my parents and myself.  It's all going to take some getting used to.

It is very sad when a family member passes away. It is something we all must go through at some point. It\'s part of the human condition. We have to accept and adjust because there is nothing else to do.

Tatty, I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard sometimes and it will be so different with your loved one gone. I lost my son 2 years ago and I still cry everyday. But we know they are in a better place and my faith helps me deal with that knowledge. I will be thinking of you. Take care of yourself, J
