Self-Care becoming paramount

Yesterday's experience heading to and from the Meetup in Dublin was a whole series of chaotic moments which, in the end, turned out fine.

First I drove To Antrim to get a Bus to Belfast and I exeperienced a 'One for Sorrow' Magpie, then a 'Two for Joy' pair of Mapies then another 'One for sorrow'. At Antrim Bus Station I spoke to a guy from Romania heading back there with his kids and he then ended up on the same bus to Dublin as me; he had to go to the Airport; and on the Bus to Dublin I had to purge as I was nauseous and moved to the top deck and felt better afterwards.

Then, in County Louth, there was a Garda Checkpoint asking for our IDs. An American Guy from Massachusetts traveling across Europa was talking to these American Backpacking Women from Tennessee and he was making fun of the Southern Stereotype; as well as his experience in Copenhagen.

Then I arrived at Busaras and took a Taxi to the Bar as I had no idea where it was. The traffic jam and roadworks on O'Connell Street meant that I missed the Kick off. However, I was grateful for the game. My Gooners came back from 1-0 down to win 3-1. I then walked back to Busaras, buying Solpadine along the way at a Chemist, and then waited for the 6 pm Bus to Belfast, buying the Irish News at Busaras.

But then my Bus had a collision with a hesitant Polish Driver and felt guilty as I had asked the driver 5 minutes earlier to shop at a Filling Station so I could go to the toilet. However, there was a substitute bus arriving soon which meant I could still get the 9:10 pm Train to Derry and get off at Antrim. Then I drove home, getting £25 of petrol in Antrim and buying the Daily Mirror for the TV Listings for Gran; which she got this morning.

In the end I had to let the OA Intergroup Chair know I couldn't make it today as I need to take care of myself. I need to get some rest.

Oh I get so aggravated at people making fun of us Southerners!! Yes we DO have an accent but it doesn\'t mean we are stupid!! I got made fun of all the time when I lived in Chicago for four years. Hey I just let people underestimate me and then show them!!

Yes Please take good care of yourself Des!!

Sounds like quite the day for sure. Glad your team won Des, but sorry for the bumps along the way. People who make fun of us southerners because of the \' red neck \' stereotypes are idiots. lol
Get some rest today, you deserve it! big hugs xoxo
