My Ministry

For this is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalms 118:24) I am thinking about last night; A friend that I know from church has been absent from my sight; she reached out a few days ago and I found out that she had some serious health concerns; After speaking with her in depth about what happened; I realized the power of God through affliction. Some how through the midst of her struggle, God sustained her and her children through the holidays. I felt so bad that  no one sought to help her, although she hid her distress very well. As a single mother she worked, attended classes, and tried to maintain her household with two adolescent children. Wow! I marveled at the fortitude that she had, for I know with the ones that my husband and I are raising, I couldn't do it with out his help. I prayed with her and encouraged her that through affliction God reminds us that we have to rely on his strength because we could never do it on our own.
