How to get banned from SheToldMe - By TravisAitch ;-)

2010-02-25 6:44 am PSTOk so I can't figure out why I can't log onto SheToldMe. I haven't been on in a while and I have been trying all kinds of possible usernames and password combinations that I might have used and it's not recognizing any of them, not even my e-mail.The thing is I was kinda using SheToldMe as a guinea pig and I think it bit me in the butt. I wanted to see how a 4% keyword density would do on a 100-word summary. They ranked well while they were still new and fresh, but I haven't been able to find any lately. I didn't think much of it. Then I just tried to get on to get some link juice for my newest article that didnt rank nearly as well as I expected, and I can't seem to log on. So I'm just assuming my account got, for future reference...4% keyword density is probably waytoo much foryour descriptions on social bookmarking sites, or at least SheToldMe...oh well. Maybe I'll be able to make a 2nd account. lol.2010-02-25 7:36 am PSThm....I've never touched SheToldMe, Travis........I have seen the owner openly promote the site elsewhere....the 100% adsense revenue share is great, but, growth seems to be very very miniscule compared to Info Barrel, and similar websites...2010-02-25 7:58 am PSTYea, I knew they were pretty weak and that's pretty much why I chose them to experiment with. I'm not upset about it at all, I think it's funny. :-)2010-02-25 8:07 am PSTI tried to register but could not find where to put password in. So thinking I had stuffed up I started again. And redid it but still no password. The I got an email to say I was not accepted. I told them what happened and they said I could redo it and they would reconsider. But I thought If dey don wana me that too bad. So did not bother going back.2010-02-25 9:53 am PSTActually I found the admin to be really nice. Several times I needed help and he responded just the way I hoped an admin would. 4% keyword density should actually be all right . . . . but you might try contacting him and seeing what he says. Of course, you have to factor in my approach in the matter; it's my theory that no-one can forever resist a planned campaign of determined cheerfulness and politeness.2010-02-25 1:20 pm PSTTravis,I agree with classicalgeek, I dont think they would ban you for that. If you want to still use the sight I would contact the owner, he is really helpful. Did you find that She Told Me worked after the few first days that your articles ranked well, or was that short lived? I've wondered how good the backlinks are and have wanted to use it more but havn't put much effort into using She Told Me only because the summary length you have to write is longer than Xomba so I'd rather just use Xomba, and Xomba has proven to be great for backlinks, at least for me.2010-02-25 2:09 pm PSTTravis, I have never been able to log into shetoldme with IE only with FF???? Strange, but true. Just a thought, have you tried a different browser?2010-02-25 3:20 pm PSTOk guys, it's not that hard!! :)When you sign up for it though you WILL get rejected if you don't fill in the little information bit about yourself. Also, if you get rejected just sign up with a new email and user name. The first time I signed up there I forgot the info part, so I just used another email/name. No problem!Travis - it sounds like a glitch. I don't think 4% is bad and I'd be really surprised if they booted ya for that if it was. It actually seems like a pretty lenient site as long as you follow Google guidelines if you're using your adsense.I have a blog about SheToldMe. It's been super helpful for me though not a whole lot of money. But, I have earned there. And, since I only use them for back links, I think the earnings comparison is not bad. I am still not earning well here.2010-02-25 4:23 pm PSTEmyLu, yes, my SheToldMe would do good for the first few days and then I noticed it would drop off completely and I do like Xomba better for the same reasons you do. I submitted my new article today to Digg, Mixx, StumbleUpon, and a Xomblurb, and the Xomblurb is the only one that showed up on the first 3 pages. My InfoBarrel itself ended up on the 15th page which was not what I was expecting at all, almost all of my InfoBarrels have been ranking well but this one had more competetion on the topic than I anticipated so I needed backlinks bad.Kristara,I just got this new awesome computer (Windows 7) and haven't tried using FireFox yet, maybe I'll download it sometime but right now this IE is pretty nice. I never had a problem getting on SheToldMe on my old computer and that used IE8 also. So I don't know...but it has been a while since I tried.JP,thanks for the tips, I didn't think 4% was bad either but I don't know, hopefully you're right. But I'm not sweating it too much. I'll try again here soon probably.2010-02-25 5:40 pm PSTTravis ,it's funny you say that because I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and that's when I couldn't sign on using IE.Then I downloaded FF and have no problems. I just tried signing on using IE and couldn't, but signed right on with FF. Glitch????2010-02-25 7:41 pm PSTHmm...what a coinkydink. It must have something to do with Windows 7...I wonder what would cause that? I can't think of why that would matter...but it clearly looks like that's the issue. I'll probably try geting firefox anyway, now that I gotta nice clean slate with no viruses. My last computer stopped letting me use firefox after a while and I could never figure out why. Off topic, but have you usedyour Windows Media Center yet? I just noticed it a little bit ago and it looks awesome! I need to get me a TV tuner so I canactually use it. It has live TV, internet TV, movies, all kinds of stuff. It looks great but I don't know if I can use any of it till I get a TV tuner.2010-02-25 10:57 pm PSTKristara and Travis,I also just got a new laptop with Windows 7, I had to stop using ie because the back button always froze - - it was really annoying so now I only use FF, anyways I just tried to log on to She Told Me through ie and it worked fine for me, weird!2010-02-26 2:58 am PSTHmmm...wierd...Well I dunno if it matters but I got a HP Compaq Presario....Kristara, do you happen to have the same computer as me?2010-02-26 5:18 am PSTMine is an HP Pavillion. Windows 7 has some cool stuff. I like the tab idea on the bottom. I'm sure I need to take the tutorial thing to see what I'm missing out on because I know it's a lot. I was looking through my programs and saw something about watching tv. I need to investigate what kind of power I'm holding!2010-02-26 5:51 am PSTJP, you need to find the program called "Windows Media Center", it's different than Windows Media Player. It's the one with al lthe cool TV and movie stuff.I like the tabs. I like the post-it notes (I used them for my last article), the snipper tool is pretty swank, saves you a lot of time on doing screen shots for sure.I thought I remember on one of the commercials for Windows 7 the guy was talking about how you can have 2 tabs open at the same time and split them in half. I still haven't figured out how to do that yet, but that would come in really handy writing articles.2010-02-26 10:08 am PSTTravis,I have the HP Pavillion. Windows 7, Intel I3 processor, pretty cool stuff. I haven't checked out the media center yet. 2010-02-26 12:57 pm PSTI actually like the admin at SheToldMe. He banned my account once due to an oversight on my part (I bookmarked an article with "Sex" in the title. Which he thought was an adult content article). Got a quick apology and all is well with the world :D.2010-02-27 10:25 am PST@Kristara - I notice you have tons of scoops listed on I just got approved today and submitted a handful. Are you seeing any revenue from them? I'm really looking at it more as link building, but making a few extra bucks would be great, too!@ Peoplescontent - I'm glad the admins are so personable at That's one of the main reasons I like Info Barrel so much.2010-02-27 5:43 pm PSTJust so everyone knows, I dont mean to bash SheToldMe with my posts. I think it's a good site and I can tell the owner is a cool laid back guy just by the way he words his stuff in the rules section and everything. Seems like a real down to earth guy who's not trying to act superiorto his userslike you see on a lot of other sites.2010-02-28 2:24 am PSTI think every time ms windows comes up with a new program It always always always has problems until they iron outthe bugs I would not even touch it.It was the same with xp vista and now this. so often it would not work with many older programs. give it six to 12 months and it will come good, and by then they will bring outa new one and then it starts all ov er again. I had vista on mine and went back to xp with both computers much more secure. although I know I will have to upgrade soon as they will not recognise it. ev entually
