Target in Butler Plaza benefited from online sales by offering in-store pickup, said Brian Jablonski, store team leader. He said the store felt the shorter period between Thanksgiving and Christmas with less foot traffic. "I don't think our guests were prepared for it," he said. Jablonski said Target responded to more frugal shoppers with circulars advertising more aggressive sales and by offering hundreds of coupons through its Cartwheel Facebook app. "That, combined with everything click else, kept us competitive through the month," he said, as the store was busy with a holiday clearance sale. The store did not suffer "huge repercussions" from the data breach of 40 million customer credit and debit cards, he said, with the extra 10 percent off offered in response on the weekend before Christmas helping.
