Help Me Understand What's Compassion?

What is empathy? Compassion in my experience, is showing love and kindness toward others, giving them a piece of your heart, and asking for nothing back in return. I'm blessed to work with clients as well as their families everyday, and also to spread compassion to those who mightn't receive it otherwise, or often.
I recently had the chance to go to a client who had been in a rehabilitation center in Boca Raton, Florida who was recuperating from a busted hip. I went to visit her to check to see how she was feeling, and I likewise wanted to ensure that she knew that she was being thought of by me.
When I walked in the room, her eyes lit up and she said, "What have you been doing here?"
I reacted.
We talked for over one hour about her thoughts on her treatment, the facility's food, for after she returned home and her plans.
It made me feel really great that I possibly could reveal kindness and her love. Stopping by to visit was such a little action from me, but it made a big impact with her.
We believe that compassion makes all the difference. You can find lots of ways to show empathy plus they can be as easy as calling to check on someone who we understand is ill, or by seeing with him or her if they can be in the hospital. Showing compassion can also not be as difficult as taking time to actually listen to others. We get so trapped in trying to "fix" everything, when often times, people only want a person to listen to them, understand that they're heard, and that their feelings are validated.
I challenge everyone to be the definition of compassion and to demonstrate kindness and love toward everyone you meet. http://preferhome.com/senior-resources - Home Care -
