Christmas In Berlin

Schloss Charlottenburg - Known as the most romantic Christmas market, the Charlottenburg Christmas market, located on the grounds of the old palace, offers a picturesque setting. The market is open every day, except Christmas Eve, from November 25th-December 26th. Visitors can enjoy both permanent and temporary exhibits within the castle, plus 150 stalls and glass pagodas nestled throughout the grounds. There are also three restaurant tents, offering local dishes from Brandenburg, as well as a variety of duck and goose-based Austrian dishes. For the children there is a separate market, which includes a carousel and a petting zoo.

Deep discounts fail to woo U.S. holiday shoppers

Retail sales between Thanksgiving and Christmas rose 2.7 percent, compared with http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/delta-announces-the-sale-of-the-delta-shares-held-by-sara-lee-to-a-company-controlled-by-isaac-dabah-54877597.html 3.0 percent a year earlier, while the number of people walking into stores across the United States declined 14.6 percent, ShopperTrak said. "Not only were people more promotional this year, giving away more margin, but it didn't generate the incremental traffic they would have expected," said Cowen & Co analyst John Kernan. ShopperTrak, a Chicago-based company that measures foot traffic in more than 50,000 locations worldwide, said U.S. shoppers spent $265.9 billion during the latest holiday period. Its data excludes online sales.
