BEST SELLING CARS AND TRUCKS IN MINNESOTA


MINNEAPOLIS, April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- R.L. Polk & Company, which tabulates new vehicle registrations, recently released data indicating the brands of new cars and trucks Minnesota consumers liked best in 1993.
In first place among the top ten cars was the Ford Taurus. The top selling truck also was a Ford, the F-Series full-size pickup.
Sales of its Lumina and the C/K pickup gave Chevrolet second-place honors in both cars and trucks. Chevrolet's Cavalier was the third best selling car, followed by Ford Escort and Pontiac Grand Am in fourth and fifth place.
Dodge Caravan was the third best selling truck, followed by Ford Explorer and Plymouth Voyager in fourth and fifth place.
Among the car divisions, first place went to the Ford Division which had 26,448 car sales in Minnesota last year. The Chevrolet Division came in second with 20,346 car sales.
Ford Division also claimed truck sales honors with 37,795 units sold, followed by Chevrolet's 29,728.
