I've received well over 35 invitations like this, worded almost precisely the same manner. The senders have acted surprised and offended that I did not leap to benefit from this request. Visit official site to discover where to ponder this idea.
Let's go through the dilemmas in this request from the marketing perspective.
* Almost all of the invitations I received were from individuals whose names I did not understand. Why would I desire to be a part of their community? The invitation does not say how I'd benefit from their system and who they're, who they've use of.
* What's Linked-in, how does it work and what are the benefits of using it? No body has yet explained this clearly in their invitation. You cannot expect that some body receiving this invitation understands what you are asking them to participate or how it would be beneficial to them. It would be helpful to have a paragraph or two explaining how it works and mentioning a particular effect anyone behind the invitation liked from membership. It could be that people believe that since 'basic account is free,' the typical person of the request may go-ahead and join. But even if it will not cost money, time would be taken by joining. You still require to 'sell' people on having a free activity, specially with respect to an activity or organization that may be different to them.
* No body took some time to head off possible misconceptions or objections to this account. We learned about more information by browsing the Internet. As a non-member of Linked In, I am worried that joining would open me up to lot of email and calls that would spend my time and in which I'd have no interest. Again, you can not suppose that some thing free is thus enticing; you must imagine why some body may have questions or dismiss the idea and address these questions.
* Using a processed request that is almost the exact same as everyone else's does not produce a good impression.
