35th Anniversary of Ian Curtis

Thirty-Five years ago this day, Ian Curtis (lead singer of Joy Division, my favourite band of all time) killed himself after watching a Werner Herzog film on BBC 2 just when his band were set to tour America for the first time. The world and his wife were influenced by that band; even U-freaking-2; and the band transcend the 'Goth' pigeon-hole they were given just because they supported The Cure in 1978/79.
I bought 'Digital' (one of their first ever singles and the last song they ever played together live) on iTunes. Of course, the surviving members of the Band regrouped and formed New Order, who introduced dance music who a whole new generation in 1983 with 'Blue Monday'.
Thanks for the music! :)
