Hello, I have been with my fiance for 5 years. We live together and plan to get married next year. He has been a police officer since I've known him. Lately we've been fighting a lot over his poor communication skills, lack of emotion/affection, his inability to commit to plans in advance, and his obsession with law enforcement. These problems are compounded by the stress of constantly worrying about him as he works in a high crime area. I respect his work and have tried to be patient with him/his circumstances, but I am starting to question if we should married. On another forum everyone advised me to leave the relationship. I found this group and read some old posts, and I noticed these problems seem common to police spouses. I should add that my fiance is an otherwise good person, trustworthy, kind, and hardworking. To those of you who are married to a cop, does it get any easier? Did you have the same concerns before you got married? Thank you for reading.
