we talked about death often

My honey and I loved talking about our human mortality We would constantly ponder our exisitence and hope that a here after really existed. We promised eachother that we would find a way to let eachother know if there was an after life. He used to get teary eyed and say " I'm going to miss you when I die" I think about it often, so I talk to him each day, just in case he is feeling lonley too.

And guess what ; he did find a way to let me know. But its only been once and I keep hoping he'll do it again. It happend right at the moment when we started to remove the life support. Its a great story. I will post the story in a seperate topic.

I wouldn't say we talked often about death but we did talk about it. He joked some man in a 12 step group would pick me up if he died, I told him I'd "had thebest, don't want the rest." I still feel that way. He said if I died he probably would just stay in the house with the dogs. I said he'd have lots of women bringing cassaroles over and offering to "console" him. When I had cancer I made lists of who he could marry. James was a spiritual man and he told me he dreamed heaven was a big church with white pillars up to the sky, but all open to the sky and trees around and people and little children talking and playing and being safe. Another time he said we were like drops in a river, all united until our births and then as we were born we were like the indidvidual drops in a waterfall and at death we all came together into a great whole again. James didn't fear death and he had no reason to. His death was very sudden, a heart attack in the middle of the night on Dec. 16, 2010. He was ready. I look forward to joining him when my time comes.

I picutred heaven that way too, Edith.

My husband and I used to talk about the 1000 years, when Jesus returned and set up his kingdom here on earth. We're looking forward to that time.

My husband and I used to jokingly argue why we had to be the one to go first. Neither of us could conceive of being here without the other. My husbands top three reasons why he had to go first were 1, He didn't know what colours matched 2, He didn't know where the money was and 3, He hated paperwork. He also advised me to marry a longdistance truckdriver if anything happened to him cuz I needed my space . And he should be a good handyman because although my husband could do the basics he wasn't the kind of guy my sister's married-one who could build a house from the ground up himself. It never bothered me but he thought it might be nice. His sense of humour is just one of the many things I miss so dearly.

my husband helped me battle cancer and then passed away, I just figured I would go first because he was not sick. I would joke with him about no other blondes and she couldnt be younger. He would tell me to get a pool boy even though we dont have a pool. I miss him so much he was retired and I would come home to have lunch with him everyday I really miss that time of day. God bless.

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
