I am so afraid that I will forget about my husband Bobby. I'm afraid I'll forget all the little things you take for granted every day when they're here. I keep a notebook.....and when I think of something small.....I write it down. For myself and for my kids. I think it will make good stories down the road when the kids are older. Our boys probably won't remember much about him (which is so hard for me to think about) since they are only 4 and 5. I was telling my 5 year old the other night how we used to take him to the beach and he started crying. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "I don't remember that." I try to talk to them as much as possible and remind them of the fun things they did with Daddy to keep their memories fresh in their mind.
It's weird because he's been gone for only a month but sometimes it feels like it's been 6 months. We've never been apart for more than a few days and maybe that's why. Other times it feels like he was just here yesterday.
Does anyone else write down their memories? Am I the only one that is afraid of forgetting?

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
He was such a Great Grandpa to them
What does bother me is that I don't remember his voice. I wish I had been able to keep his cell phone greeting. It would have been priceless.
Sadly the twins ARE starting to forget Ruth. It is nearly 1/3 of their life ago since Ruth died so I should not really be too surprised. It does hurt a bit though.
It took me awhile to get past the hard time of his illness, but the good memories did come.
I kept a journal after he died to help remember the good times.

Unless you want a good cry, don't watch that movie!
