I finished the soup diet and I lost 3 pounds. Even though it wasn't as much as I would have liked, it has helped me get in the habit of eating less, and eating more fruits and vegetables. I just found out today that our school is participating in a biggest loser competition. Hopefully this will help me. Thanks to Boomer, Goneforever, and Warpony for all of your help!

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. American heart association basic fat burning soup diet......
SOUP INGREDIENTS:
6 large green onions
2 green pepper's
1 or 2 cans of diced tomatoes (I use stewed)
1 bunch of celery
1 large can v-8
I pkg. Lipton onion soup mix (I use the cheaper stuff)
1 or 2 bouillon cubes(I actually use three)
**you can also add some cabbage if you'd like to (I do)**
Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, etc.
Cut veggies into bit sized pieces and cover with v-8 and water
(water enough to cover the veggies)
Boil fast for 10 minutes, reduce and cook til veggies are tender.
Eat as much as you want, whenever you want at any time of day.
SEVEN DAY MENU:
Day #1) all fruit except for bananas cantaloupes , watermelons are lower in calories than most fruit. Eat your soup for drinks....unsweetend tea, cranberry juice and water.
Day#2) all veggies except for dry beans, corn and peas! Eat your soup and at supper you can have 1 large baked potato (but no butter)!
Day#3) mix days one and two! Be sure to eat your soup too!
Day#4) bananas and skim milk! Eat as many as 8 bananas and as much skim milk! Bananas are high in carbs and calories as is the milk but on this particular day of your diet.....your body will need the potassium and carbs, protein and calcium to lessen your cravings for sweets.

Day#5) beef and tomatoes!
Ten to twenty ounces of beef and up to six fresh tomatoes! Drink at least 5-8 glasses of water b/c your body needs it to help eliminate the uric acid from your body! Eat your soup too!
Day#6) beef and veggie's day! (you can replace the beef for skinless chicken or fish on this day only! as ....your body needs the protein on day#5 from the beef!
Day#7) brown rice , veggies and Unsweetened fruit juice! Again, stuff, stuff, stuff yourself. Be sure to eat your soup at least once today!
** at the end of day seven.....if you haven't cheated.....you can lose 10-17 pounds! If you lose more than 15 pounds....go off the diet for 2-3 days before you try again!
The seven day eating plan can be used as often as you like. If followed it will clean your system of impurities and give you a healthier feeling.
After only a few days of this process, you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10 to a possible 17 pounds and have an abundance of energy. Continue this plan as long as you wish to feel the difference!
This diet is a fast fat burning diet and the secret is that you will burn more calories than you take in. This diet does not lend itself to drinking alcoholic beverages at any time because of the removal of fat build up in your system. Go off the diet for at least 24 hours before intake of alcohol!
Everyone's digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently!
If you have problems with bowel movements..... You can have one cup of bran cereal!
**Although you can drink black coffee(I drink my coffee as I usually do b/c it is non dairy creamer and splenda)!
Definite no-no's:
No bread.
No alcohol.
No carbonated drinks (Not even diet soda)!
***Stick with water,unsweetened teas,black coffee,cranberry juice and skim milk (on the day it is allowed).
No fried foods or breads.
***remember....the more soup you eat.....the more you will lose!***
Any prescribed medicines will not hurt you on this diet!
This diet is used for over weight heart patients who need to lose weight rapidly, usually before surgery!
** one modification: breakfast can be cereal with skim milk!
