How do you define that term? In the old OA....very old, 1970's...the "diet" was very rigid but it sounds like things have changed a lot. For me, I think it would be not binging and eating healthy when I am truly hungry ....approaching a bag of cookies and not eating the whole bag! Also, is the book people keep referring to the same one that AA uses? If not, where does one get a copy?

The so-called "Big Book" of AA is, I think, accepted literature at OA meetings (although someone will pull me up on that if I am wrong!). You can get it here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alcoholics-Big-Book-AA-Services/dp/1893007162/ref=pd_sim_b_3
The basic text of OA is our fellowship's equivalent to AA's Big Book, you can get it here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Overeaters/dp/1889681024/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234180496&sr=1-3
And I would highly recommend getting a copy of the workbook to go through with a sponsor. It is here: http://www.oagb.org.uk/wp-content/pdf/OAlitorder2009.pdf (item 992 under "books"). Also, take a look at the leaflet "a plan of eating", which is item 145 on the list.
I hope that helps!
