Vitiligo or leukoderma is a skin disease that causes loss of pigment, resulting in irregular white patches of skin. There is some evidence suggesting it is caused by a combination of auto-immune, genetic and environmental factors. Myself and my younger brother started getting vitilgo when I was about 8? Which seems to suggest something triggered it off in as both at the same time? diet, environment?? I am now 30. I have learnt vitilgo is realted to hyperthyroidism which I also have and can be to do with food allergies. my tummy is always saw to touch as long as I can remember. Does anyone else's tummy hurt all the time also to touch?
I watch my diet now, mainly excluding gluten, wheat & dairy. I also take some juice which my mum (a nutritionalist) suggested and in the past year I have had some of the spots on my hands disappear.. and that makes me HAPPY!!..

Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. The juice is called ViaVient it gives you more nutrients and metabolism. Thats what I was taking when I first noticed a change (I had never noticed a positive change till then, in 22yrs) I have stopped taking it for a few months now and the spots are still coming back. So I can not be sure what the reason is, maybe it just triggered a change or it could also be that now I don't eat as much gluten and dairy. all the best
the only thing it could be for me is both my father and sister were both insulin dependant diabetic so this is why i have this i think because i carry the gene.
And i also found out that stress will cause it to get worse.
