Hello everyone.......I am new to this group. I have been a gamer sense I was a wee kid. I remember playing my commodore 64 and going to swap meets to find Atari games. I am 31 now and have 2 Xbox 360's and over 50 games, 1 PS3 and about 7 games, 2 Wii's with about 20 games, And in my family we have 4 DS's. I also have a gaming computer and about 30 games on it. When I was not married I would spend hours upon hours gaming. Nonstop 24 hour days were very common and by no means did I consider myself addicted. Not that I have a family I don't play nearly as much as I would like and at times my wife and I get into arguments over games but again I don't consider myself as an addict. I can't believe people consider gaming to be as bad a crack or any drug for that matter. I know people do take gaming to extremes and play WOW till they die. And hay if you are stupid enough to play a game and neglect things like eating, drinking, and sleeping and you keel over and die....well you deserve you fate. Games are a way to escape from you day to day life and become anything or anyone you want. It is no different than people who love going to the movies, People who work out for hours and hours. Being addicted to drugs changes the chemicals in you and makes you dependent on them......games don't!! I can't believe there's AA type of meetings for gamers. Its ridiculous and absurd to me that people go to these meetings. Grow up!! I have been a gamer my whole life and I'm fine. People just need to realize that it is just a game and if you are the type of person that is easily controlled and can't stop playing. Well then you deserve whatever consequences happen to you. I would like to hear from all of you....if you agree with me or not. I am not trying to be mean to anyone. I am just trying to state my opinion.
