He probably won't notice whether it's working or not.
When we go to his doc and the doc asks my husband how he has been feeling, my husband looks at me and says, "how have I been feeling?" The doc has learned to just asked me instead of my husband. I mentioned that my husbands depression had gotten worse and that he seemed to be getting short of breath more often lately, so we now have new meds, and a couple of inhalers.
The doc has scheduled a lung function test for next month.
I'd say, if your doc suggests some meds, they would be worth a try! If a certain med doesn't seem to work, they can keep trying different things to make you feel better.
