fighting a tough battle against colitis. i seem to be loosing this battle. i am considering the ideal of becoming a vegan to see if this helps. my problem however is that the only thing i still have control of in my life is racing bicycles. kind of like lance armstrong but on a more regional scale in the northeast. this has been my life for 15 years and the training requires lots of calories. 40 percent of these calories need to come in the form of protein. also while doing races that can last up to 4+ hours it is necessary to comsume a lot of sports drinks and energy bars to keep up on calories being burned while racing and training. was wondering if a true vegan diet would be doable without compromising my racing.
