So, my computer seems to have some trouble replying to messages. I can't imagine that smoking the bees out would be a very humane process - just having smoke blowing in my face from an outdoor grill is unpleasant, so being smoked out of your home must be much more so. Also, I've read that worker bees don't live very long and literally work themselves to death. Granted, this is the bee's nature, but it's working for the good of the HIVE, not for people. The bees make honey for their dietary needs, and to me it doesn't seem quite right to take that away from them. Plus wax, royal jelly (secreted from the nurse bee's heads) and propolis are all also taken for human consumption and these are things the bees need for themselves, so using honey is a form of exploitation if you care to look at it that way.
