Hello - if you remember me, I posted a while back about how I was going to a mostly vegetarian lifestyle but I felt that humans were intended to eat meat so I was going to eat meat sometimes.... well, I have revised that thought and am now making it my New Year's Resolution to stop eating meat. The problem is, I quite enjoy meat and when my iron is low, I actually crave it (I get the urge to eat raw red meat.) I have not found any meat substitutes that enjoy. I'm wondering if any of you can help me, please, as I feel that it is better for my health and because of the inhumane treatment animals suffer. I will be researching veganism more int he upcoming months because I feel that it also would be better for my health and because there was a big scandal with abuse at a dairy farm close to me recently and it broke my heart. I am not able to make that commitment to myself at this time, but are there any milk substitutes you would recommend to me that I can begin experimenting with? I tried silk at one time and it was awful, it wasn't sweetened though so maybe that's why. Any help is greatly welcome as this is going to be a hard task for me. Thank you all.
