Hi everyone. I have the opportunity to visit a sister who just bought a house and is renovating it in the countryside. She wrote me last week asking when I can come but I'm hesitating because I feel nervous about seeing and helping take care of animals she recently got, they are pigs and chickens for meat and eggs. She named the piglets "Pork" and "Chop," something that would be funny, if I weren't secretly crying. I would love to see and play with pigs, but it's such dark psychology. I definitely couldn't call them by those names. I haven't seen any farm animals since I changed to vegan. My parents also have open range beef cattle that I'll be required to see soon. That will be more intense, because my parents sell the cows to feedlots. I'm going to have a breakdown when I see them I think. Has anyone had experiences with farm animals? I feel that I will cry on and off, and I also sense that my sister and family will scoff at me if they ever find that I am crying over the animals. I'm preparing to cry in bathrooms, I guess, and hide it from them.
