Does anyone else really hate it when omnivores try to convince you that eating meat is really nutritious, good for digestion, and can actually help you loose weight??!!! *fake smile*
Seriously, I can't understand for the life of me how other people can have so much interest in other people's chosen diet, apart from that it's a great way to start an argument. I happened to believe that eating meat is not nearly all it's cracked up to be in terms of nutrition. Unfortunately, the majority of people are too preoccupied and lazy to research these 'benefits' of eating meat, or have a look at studies that have been conducted, instead they listen to the adds sponsored by the meat industry that claim 'red meat 3 times a week is absolutely brilliant!!'
Eating meat, and dairy for that matter, has proven to be linked to digestion problems, constipation, heart disease, and most recently, dairy has been linked to cancer.
My Dad is a scientist and he's really into all this kinda stuff, so he tends to share it with me:-P
Anyway, the point is people, what's the most annoyingly riddiculous claim you've heard from a meat-eater about being a vegetarian or vegan?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Eventually you learn to get them wallow in their own ignorance.
Your not going to get the nutrition you need, your going to become super skinny and horrible looking. You can't get the protein and calcium that your body needs if you don't eat meat. Your not helping anything, your just driving yourself crazy
The other answer is, how much protein do you need per day? 99 people out of 100 have no idea.
But the funniest thing I was told was by my grandmother on Thanksgiving, "The turkey is going to be so sad that you don't appreciate it".
I save sooo much money being vegan, it is not even funny! My BF is still a meat eater and his meat and milk are the most expensive things we buy.
