Turner Syndrome Support Group
Turner syndrome encompasses a number of chromosomal abnormalities, of which monosomy X, is the most common. It occurs in 1 out of every 2,500 female births. Instead of the normal XX sex chromosomes for a female, only one X chromosome is present and fully functional. In Turner syndrome, female sexual characteristics are present but underdeveloped.
Do you think that I could possibly have Turners?

I have minor learning difficulties and low IQ, as I struggle with all the Maths questions. I was diagnosed with Asperger's at 8 but now they don't know what it wrong with me and think that I just have 'emotional difficulties.
I am very childlike in appearence and I have a unique body and facial appearence. I have a very wide back and unlike most women I don't have a set of hips.
I looked up people with Tuner Syndrome on Google images and their breasts were also on the sides of the chest like mine are.
I have periods, but it said that some women with Turners do depending on how severe it is. I started my period at 13 but it has never been fully regular. It comes every 4 to 6 weeks.
I also gave birth to a son when I was 21 which unfortunatly was taken off of me as a baby because they assumed I wouldn't cope. I read that some women with mild Tuner's do have periods and can get pregnant and sometimes they never actually find out.
What scares me though is that it said something about early menopause.
I feel too anxious to go to the doctor as they might think I am silly.
Please help!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My daughter was diagnosed with autism when she was 5 years old. This past October, at age 10, she was diagnosed with Turners. Our pediatrician said that Turners could have been her issue all along and that autism may never have been. There are some similarities in the two due to the non-verbal learning disability that is seen in Turners. She has emotional difficulties as well such as obsessions and anxiety. If I were you, I'd schedule an appointment with your doctor and ask them to do the blood test. I don't think they'd refuse. We would never have known our daughter had Turners if it wasn't for her height. How tall are you? Also, make sure you have health insurance before you have that test done as it is very expensive.....but don't let that stop you. Your health is more important!
