After some blood work my doctor wanted me to come in for an ultrasound (I was only 5w6d). After having a miscarriage last year I was terrified. They saw what they thought was the baby and got a heartrate of 89. The doctor then talked to my husband and I explaining that my progesterone level was 44 and my hcg was 13,000 which most likely means that I "had" twins. My levels had gone down 48 hours later which caused them to believe there was a vanishing twin. My next ultrasound is in 7 days and they don't want to do any bloodwork in between because the levels will be all over the place. My doctor told me that I should experience some cramping and spotting due to loosing the one baby. I haven't experienced any of that. Has anyone else ever heard of this or experienced it themselves? I am worried about the baby they did see, especially since my miscarriage last year was at 8 weeks.
