I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Selenium and zinc are good for DH/DFs to take (increase sperm quality and motility), plus C vitamin (sperm motility, count and overall health) and essential fatty acids.
Evening primrose oil is highly recommended to increase/improve quality of cervical mucous to aid in conception (NB: take only from menstruation to ovulation, otherwise, you run the risk of contractions if you do become PG!). Vitex helps w/ luteal phase defects b/c it helps produce progesterone but it can take a long time for Vitex to work(as with EPO, take from AF to ovulation).
You can also take selenium and zinc supplements since they play a role in healthy egg structure. Others that are recommended for fertility/baby making/baby keeping are B12, E (helps w/ egg quality) and essential fatty acids (keeps repro and other systems healthy).
Check w/ your doctor on taking herbal supplements if you're on other meds. For example, a friend of mine found out that Vitex counteracts Clomid. You'll also want to find a reliable source to advise on correct dosages.
CarrieDawn, ditto re: baby aspirin and folic acid! My doctors shared a release from Canadian group MotheRisk that up to 5 mg of folic acid is recommended, and I'm finding as I talk to others that baby aspirin is an oldie but a goodie for most women. Just be careful taking it into the second and third trimesters - I think you're supposed to take it up to the third trimester, but you'll want to check on that.
After baby dancing, try to lie with your hips very slightly elevated - it sounds old-fashioned but it actually can help.
Pay attention to your body. I found that reading/learning about cervical mucous, and paying attention to that and its changes in your cycle, helpful in pinpointing ovulation. We actually got PG on our first try doing just that, and BDing every second day on the week my CM changed!
Takes 24-48 hours for sperm to replenish, so try to BD accordingly :)
Have fun and best of all luck to you!
Also I will definitely be buying some baby aspirin.
Thanks!!
L-Carnitine-1,000 mg
L-Arginine-1,800 mg
Vitamiin C-3,000 mg
Zinc 46 mg
B-12- 2,500 mcg
B-100 Complex
Coenzyme Q10- 200-300 mg
Vitamin E- 400 IU
Beta Carotene-15 mg (25,000 IU Vitamin A)
And a daily vitamin
He also takes these other supplements that I have not checked to see their effect on sperm:
Saw Palmetto-400 mg
Magnesium Oxide-200 mg
Fish Oil-1,000 mg
Garlic-1,000 mg
Most of these things he was already taking before I found out that they were good for sperm. I know it's a lot to take each day, but it also improves our DH's health.
Thanks again - wishing you much success this cycle!!
