I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Where is your pain? Is it the top nerve that runs through your temple and eyes? If you struggle with pain in the top third of your head/face it would make sense that you'd be light sensitive. Squinting could be a trigger for nerve pain.
Are you wondering if you have TN? Your profile doesn't say much about you.
Hope you can get some help!
I have been told by the neurlogist that i have TN. been seeing him for about 9 months. But when i read about triggers i don't have any thing like what they list.
i do not get migraines.
I'l walk out side and wham the pain goes from my tooth to behind my eye pulses a few times
Could it be a temperature change causing the TN to start?
Just a thought.

I am not on any meds i have lryica (i think i spelled that right) but have not taken it yet. I do not have pain every day.
Take care

Cold does effect me, as well as wind (so cold windy days are my enemy), and speaking. Tegretol usually manages the talking pain (which is more aching/throbbing), but the pain I get from light touches (burning/throbbing/crushing/agony!) and the cold can rarely be relieved by anything.
Smiling and laughing are big triggers for me. I'm a compulsive smiler too, so I'm in pain A LOT. I've worked at that and tried to just not worry about being friendly to everyone in the world.
The "eye pulsing" you're describing is something I get from bright light, especially from the sun glinting off snow. It can sometimes last and make my eyeball hurt for minutes, an hour, even two hours. I believe, and this is pure speculation, that it's inflammation of the optic nerve.
It doesn't need to be VERY cold to set off your TN--that's what makes TN so frustrating. That nerve is geared to be sensitive. For me... my face has determined that anything below 75 is cold. It's rather frustrating. I think your eye pain and your tooth pain may be a separate evil, but that's just from my own experiences.
Sorry to hear you are experiencing light as a trigger ,I had the same trigger last winter and was in agony , with the light causing a deep stabbing pain in my eye, sunglasses do help , years ago I had iritis I wonder if thats has anything to do with it .
my other triggers are drafts, drop in temperature, laughing causes shooting pains up right nostril into eyeball. have to brush teeth with warm water . walking more than few yards sets teeth jangling. vibrations from music , cold food from fridge and drinks. bending can increase pain ,and increase dizzyness but think thats the meds . touching face sometimes a no no .
lol think we should write a list of things we can do with Tn . hope everybody finds relieve soon . liz
We all seem to differ in our triggesr, symptoms a and the severity too.
Probably the major factor is stress, because anything from a scary movie, to anger, sadness, etc., causes my teeth to clench.
