I am getting reading to see a neurosurgeon about having a surgery done for TN. I believe he is going to push the Gammaknife procedure but from what I have read it looks like there is a better success rate with the MVD. Has anyone had these, or know anyone who has? I have read about the procedures but would like some feedback that isn't outdated. I was told the gammaknife has come along way and is as successful as the MVD and vs versa on;y without all the downtime and complications. I would rather have the MVD and be layed up for a month and be pain/drug free if it is going to be long term. But then is the Gammaknife just as successful drug free and long term? Help??? What is your opinion?
